Langtang Helambu Trekking

Langtang is a famous trekking zone in Nepal and a narrow valley that lies just south of Tibetan border. The Langtang Himal is the mouton range that is situated southeast of Sishapangma (8,027 meters) in Tibet. This trek is recommended for those who seek to explore the Cultural area of Helambu, with close view of beautiful glacier to the top of small peaks, which do not require any climbing gears and experience. This trek also offers an excellent opportunity to cross a little high pass (4600 m) of Gosainkunda as well beautiful views of several lakes and view points. They are also known for their beautiful peaks with distinctive personalities such as Langtang Lirung (7,225 meters), which is the highest peak in this area, Langshisa Ri (6,427 meters), Ganchempo (6,382 meters), and Dorje Lakpa (6,986 meters). The Langtang Khola, the main section of this course, has its water heads in the Langtang Glacier that originates from Langtang Ri (7,205 meters). It flows westward between the Langtang Himal and the Jugal Himal joins the Trishuli River in Syabrubesi and ends at Sundarijal or Melamchi Bazaar or Nagarkot. Gosainkunda Lake is one of the Hindus holiest places and is considered to be made by Shiva. To cross the Ganjala from Langtang Valley, go downstream Kyangin to a wooden bridge over the river.
